Baby-faced Beauty Review

The story of Lee So Young, a 34-year-old woman who’s saddled with family debt and only has a high school qualifications, but dreams of becoming a fashion designer. Her youthful appearance is her only advantage; she is mistaken for a 25-year-old university graduate and subsequently lands her dream job when she’s hired by a fashion design company, where she meets Choi Jin Wook, a man who looks more mature than his young age.

Where to watch

This drama was addictive at first but then it pretty much went down the hill for me after episode 12. It was not terrible but I felt that the direction of the drama went a bit astray. They added to many stories and it did not flow properly. Imagine watching a drama where one part of the story finishes and another scenario is added and then the next. It was almost like 3 parts. Same characters, different story.

I think if you have watched this drama you will understand what I mean. At first it is about her age. Then it is about her romance. Then it is about her climbing up the ladder to become a fashion designer. I feel that if they just added all three of them together and carried on the story about her pretending to be 25 right until the end and rounded it up properly it would have been perfect. Maybe she makes it to the top of the ladder and then everyone finds out about her lie. I don’t know, I just think my way would have worked better. xD

The drama started of really well. It was cute, made me laugh and I looked forward to next few episodes but they did spoil it. It is not a bad drama. It just got a bit messy for me after a while. It is quite heart warming and a simple drama.

I think the reason I carried on watching the drama right until the end is because I wanted to know what would happen to the characters because I had loved watching the relationships between them. Jang Na Ra as Lee So Young was so adorable. She is so adorable.  I have watched her in 3 dramas and she has never failed to put a smile on my face. There is this innocent style about her so she fitted really well in her role. She has a baby faced beauty. Oh get it xD LOL

She did not end up with the person I wanted her to be with. Choi Daniel was playing her love interest Choi Jin Wook and he played it really well. He just annoyed me sometimes. I think it was the fact that he was such a dork and a goof, one thing I did like is the fact that he tried so hard to make things happen for So young. It was adorable but sometimes I felt that they had no chemistry.

I disliked Kim Min Seo character Kang Yoon Seo. She was simply a selfish, arrogant b****. xD My favorite couple was actually Kim Joon soo and Lee so Jin. I kind of wished he was introduced earlier on.

Overall I feel this drama is one of those feel good dramas that some people like and some people do not. I did not enjoy it immensely but I would not say it was completely terrible. I would not rave about it and tell you to watch it. You can give it a go if you want to watch a drama that is breezy and simple.
