Micky Yoochun as Lee Sun Joon
Lee Sun Joon is a perfectionist and leader of the Jal Geum Sa In Bang (aka the Chosun F4). The grandson of a powerful noble family, a perfect boy who meets all 3 conditions of studies, athletics and looks. He is troubled by the love he has for Kim Yoon Hee, who disguises herself as a man.
Even though he is at the top of the social ladder, his privilege is also a hindrance for he’s never stepped out of his small, sheltered world.
If any of you are fans of DBSK you may know Micky. I remember before I started watching this drama, I read many articles that said his acting on this drama was pretty stiff but when I actually did start watching this drama I thought his acting was really good. He has a very strong presence on the show.
Every time he was on screen I just wanted him to start talking because he had this very brooding silent sort of look.  Really good acting, I adored him quite a lot but because the rest of the cast themselves were pretty good he did not exactly stand out but he did do a great job on his first drama début.  I really did adore him.
His chemistry between the main actress was really very realistic, the scenes between them had me going all waaa. =)
Park Min Young as Kim Yoon Hee
The girl with smart and strong personality, she dresses as a man to gain admittance to SungKyunKwan college because of her ill brother. She becomes part of the group known as Jal Geum Sa In Bang (literally translated as “The 4 Pretty Boys”) in SungKyunKwan and developes a love-relationship with Lee Sun Joon, who is the perfect husband material.
Yoon Hee is a person that when she sees someone doing something wrong, she will follow that person until that person apologizes. Responsibility is very important to her, and she likes to solve everything herself. This personality often gets her into trouble, but her intelligence helps getting her out of danger.
The actress playing her did a really good job. She was feminine without being too feminine while playing her roles. She knew when she had to deceive people. She played the role really well and I really enjoyed watching her with the male leads. She is very pretty but I thought her dressed up as  boy was much more attractive . She could pull off a pretty boy. When she dressed up in plain clothes it washed her out. I did like her quite a lot and I wanted her to end up with all the boys because she looked so good with all of them.
Song Joong Ki as Goo Yong Ha
The playboy member of the Jal Geum Sa In Bang, Goo Yong Ha is a wild and unstoppable womanizer who specializes in drinking and stealing girls’ hearts. Despite his happy and carefree exterior, he hides sadness in his heart.
He is so pretty! Sometimes I thought he might be a girl himself but really in this drama he was utterly fun to watch. He was one of my favourite characters due to the fact that he was funny and a very interesting to watch. I spent most of the drama tying to figure him out. If he showed an emotions besides happiness I got very very surprised. He was really one of my favourite of the main four boys. A very fashionable heterosexual male. See seee look how cute he is..*swoons*
Yoo Ah In as Moon Jae Shin
The rebellious member of the Jal Geum Sa In Bang, Moon Jae Shin is a sharp-eyed and all-round entertainer who is described as a “jimseung nam,” which is (badly but most accurately) translated as “beast man.” A wild guy at first, when he meets good friends at Sungkyunkwan, he gradually starts changing and grows up.
I liked this guy too. I liked all four of them. xD I think out of all them Moon Jae Shin went through a lot of character transformation.  Very handsome and I liked how different he looked in his scruffy clothes and his uniform. Very good acting from him and he has such layers. I also enjoyed the chemistry between him and the female lead. Gosh his crush on her was so cute >_<
Other Characters
Seo Hyo Rim as Ha Hyo Eun
She has a major crush on Lee Sun Joon. I did not like her too much she annoyed me.
Kim Min Seo as Cho Sun
The most beautiful women ever. When she came on the scene I was like..So pretty… She has a lot of secrets

Jun Tae Soo as Ha In Soo

He is the antagonist of the drama. He is really bad and evil. Really good acting at playing his role. He had a crush on Cho sun, felt sorry for him sometimes..

I love cross dressing drama they always tend to be funny and entertaining and this drama was no difference. This drama is set in Sungkyunkwan University during the Joseon era, revolving around the exploits and love stories of four youths. This drama has been compared to many cross dressing dramas such as your beautiful, Hana kimi,  Boys over flowers and Painter of the wind,  but while I was watching it I realised it has its own charm to it. It’s the kind of drama that although it’s been done time and time again there is something different about it. It puts in all the elements that many Korean drama fans love. Cute boys, awkward moments, cute awkward moments, great costume, comedy and best of all a fresh storyline. The only reason people think its like boys over flowers is the fact that they are all a group of 4 boys when really not all of the boys  like each other. Though they are all very handsome and have their own personality.

This drama is based on the  best selling novel The Lives of SungKyunKwan Confucian Scholars 1&2′ (성균관 유생들의 나날 1&2) by Jung Eun Gweol which I would love to read if it was in English. I really like period dramas but this one was not the usual type I watch. Usually watch dramas with very strict formalities with the king and queen. Many Many characters and a lot of conspiracies. This one was more fun to watch. It was entertaining and romantic without being too cliché.

I have to warn you though. This drama is very addictive. You will have to watch all of the episodes one after the other.  The drama portrayed good friendship and love. Its very realistic as well especially the political aspect of the drama. I think most impotent character in the drama was the king. The story kind of revolved around his dream as well as the F4 Josen’s. The drama also revolves around political parties and the four main characters fathers. A lot of secrets just waiting to come out in this drama. There is a lot of twists that you don’t expect

There is flow to the drama its not predictive at all. The characters get into a lot of situations that you don’t expect. Its very very enjoyable and entertaining. Fans of the drama You are beautiful, Boys over flowers will enjoy this drama quite a lot and also fans of dramas that contain many good looking boys. xD I really recommend this drama if you are stuck on what to watch. Its a good strotyline with good cast members.

  1. Lady Voldemort says:

hello again! i hope ur in the pink of health. i’ve been following this drama and i couldn’t agree more. it is such an entertaining drama, provided one doesn’t bother to be too realistic ( it’s kind of silly that all of those guys couldn’t see that ‘he’ is actually a she, aigooo!!!). my fav out of the F4 would be moon jae shin. he is so sweet, don’t u think? my heart cringes every time he has that look on his face, the look of knowing that yoon hee has fallen in love with sun joon. i stick watching this drama because of his character, an unsung hero, protecting yoon hee in whatever way he can. as for the main character, i’m trying to like him but my feeling is still luke-warm. i wonder why, he3! perhaps because he is in some sort of ‘rivalry’ with my love (jae shin) to win over yoon hee (lucky girl!). yong ha on the other hand, is such an eye candy, sweeeeet! but, i still couldn’t figure out this guy. is he a foe or a friend? if he is the later one, then why did he do all the things he did to reveal yoon hee’s true identity? and does he really mean what he said about having some sort of special feelings for jae shin in episode 12? he confuses me! looking forward to ur thoughts on this. later!

  2. Thank you am in great health =) Oh my god I know shes so pretty and I was like do they really think she is just a really pretty boy??
Moon jae is really sweet I like him too and every time he looked at Kim Yoon and Sun Joon I was like nooo dont be sad >_< *Mentally hugs him* I think the main character, he gets more likeable after a few more episodes. He has a very cold personality and he seems like a bit of jerk at first and also because I think you like Moon Jae, I think your being a bit biased xP You just want Moon Jae and Kim Yoon to get together xD Aww they would look cute..
About Yong ha I think you also need to watch more to figure him out. I also thought he was a foe especially because he seemed he was one of Ha In soon's crew at the start. My personal opinion on why he was so keen to finding out Kim Yoon's identity is because I think in a way he liked her and because he is well known to be a playboy I don't think he wanted to fall for a boy. More for his conscious and not because he disliked her. His such a pretty boy, I really enjoyed watching him when he came on screen. Hope your well too and thanks for reading my review! ^^ <3
